Make Default App for .parquet Files

Making ParquetViewer the default app on your system for files with the .parquet extension will allow you to easily double-click on any parquet file and immediately open it for viewing.

There are two ways to make ParquetViewer your default app for parquet files.

Option 1 - Use the in-app Checkbox

This is the simplest and quickest way to make ParquetViewer your default application for .parquet files.

1. After downloading ParquetViewer go to the Help → About page
   
2. Click the checkbox where it says Associate with .parquet files
   
3. Click Yes on the UAC prompt as the change requires Administrator access
   
4. Done!
   

Option 2 - Use Windows File Association

This is the default Windows file association method.

1. Right click any .parquet file on your system and go to Properties
   
2. In the General tab click the Change... button where it says "Open with:"
   
3. Scroll to the bottom and select Choose an app on your PC
   
4. Locate the ParquetViewer executable in your system and confirm the file association by clicking Set default
   
5. Done!
