I was too lazy to follow breaking changes in operator-sdk v1 so I'm moving everything to mostly based on controller-runtime + operator-lib. The end result is the updated CRD (v1) and the ability to build container images without the operator-sdk command, which does help folks awaiting for k8s 1.22 support and also maintainability of this project 😃
