Auto-Github

Creates a repo with a README and clones the repo all in just two lines or one if you'd like The README is pre-filled with the Repo title and description

Why

Wanted github's cli features but not all of the features.

So I did the next best thing, spent hours researching how to to do it so that I can do it in 30sec

Now you can too

Installation && setup

Note

Recommend generating a new personal token with only repo permission

You need an internet connection for the script to work

Clone the repository

 git clone https://github.com/musaubrian/auto-github

install requirements

 cd auto-github

 ./setup.py

Usage && Examples

 ./main.py --help
or
 python3 main.py --help

usage: main.py [-h] [-r REPO] [-i ISSUE]

creates repo on github with README && gitignore

optional arguments:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -r REPO, --repo REPO  Name of the github repositiory
  -i ISSUE, --issue ISSUE 
                        get issues using issue status [open |
                        closed | all]

Example

Repositroy arg (-r | --repo)

 ./main.py -r repository_name
Add repo description: description of the repo
Make it private (y/n)? y
