Background: From time to time, I do factory resets on my phone, and because of that, I always backup my user data (searched words, added words to notepads). Then after, I upload it into my Google Drive to be able to restore it later. It's great that my data is always up-to-date whenever I decide to reset my phone. But one thing I always repeat is setting up Aedict (kanjipad settings, GUI tuning, search settings, etc).

That's why I'm thinking if this settings backup/restore feature is possible in a future version?
Thank you very much.

Aedict version: 3.49

I support an easier and more comprehensible backup functionality, with its own section in the configuration menu.

I wiped my phone and thought I did all I could to backup my recently viewed list and my notepad, but so far no luck in restoring. I have a CSV backup from my notepad but no idea how to restore it etc etc.

Thanks for letting me know!
@eji30 I will investigate the possibility to let Google save the app settings in some standard way along the settings of all other apps.

@CKaden the original feature request is to back up the settings of Aedict, not the data. Unfortunately, the combination of cloud-synced database and local device backup is tricky. I suggest you enable the UMN storage type and sync it into Aedict Online. That will sync your notepads, recently viewed, tags and SRS (it won't sync the App Settings though); when you decide to wipe your phone, you can always re-enable the sync and your data will be downloaded to your device.

The app settings: this is actually a duplicate of #820 , closing as duplicate.
