Parse with Ripper, produce sexps that are compatible with Parser.
This is an experimental implementation based on ripper_ruby_parser
. Its
main purpose is to see if this could be done, after the success with
RubyParser. It also helps find differences in interpretation of Ruby code by
Ripper and Parser, which helps with fixing bugs in Parser (assuming Ripper to
be correct, of course).
Note: If you want a production ready system with many nice features such as advanced location information and rewriting, use Parser!
- Produces Sexp objects with the same structure as Parser's AST::Node results
- Does not produce compatible location data
- Does not produce compatible comment data
gem install ripper_parser
require 'ripper_parser'
parser = RipperParser::Parser.new
parser.parse "puts 'Hello World'"
# => s(:call, nil, :puts, s(:arglist, s(:str, "Hello World!")))

If you want to send pull requests or patches, please:
- Make sure
rake test
runs without reporting any failures. If your code breaks existing stuff, it won't get merged in. - Add tests for your feature. Otherwise, I can't see if it works or if I break it later.
- Make sure latest master merges cleanly with your branch. Things might have moved around since you forked.
- Try not to include changes that are irrelevant to your feature in the same commit.
RipperParser is based on RipperRubyParser, started in 2012.
