Possibly modify the DemocracyClub code that did a similar thing:

which replaced the relevant bits in http://www.google.com/codesearch#XkMEu92ZFcY/trunk/templates/constituency-map-2010.svg&q=svg%20package:http://constituencyvolunteernetwork%5C.googlecode%5C.com&l=1

which was then turned to a PNG with a cronjob lik
