Flac

Not really an issue as such, but i would like to add FLAC file playback to this excellent program. I have "Bassflac" I guess I would have to make an "if flac" loop off the main code somewhere so it uses that instead of "bass"? I haven't programmed since leaving Uni many years ago so am beyond rusty!

I would like to use it for my daughters ballet teacher, she is still uses cassettes!!!!! She is constantly changing cassette for different styles of music for different dance moves and this program will be prefect to fix it.

You can install in win10 prog directory if you have "user account control" turned off.

I think it needs a bass library update as the version included didn'd support bassflac at that time.

Unfortunately no longer working on this, sorry.

Hi Thanks for the reply Bass still doesn’t support flac but they have another module that does, hence probably needing a fork to point to either flac if it’s a flac file or bass for anything else. I haven’t looked yet but does it sound doable in principle? I have a few mates that are coders but don’t want to hassle them if you think the program structure will make it difficult to do, if you can remember back that far…lol. Just tried to add the bassflac.bas module with dll , added *.flac to the accepted files , but can't load any flac file :(

I think you better have to convert from flac to wav or mp3 files.

I tested (just for playing file that I declared in palette.ini , wihout passing by Assign button in JP), I can play a flac file.

Also I'm tring to upgrade Bass to 2.4 that handles AIF files and should easier handling plugins, that could be interesting for adding some other audio formats.
