Simple fix for empty property and empty inline dataview problem

Hey, thanks for doing this! It seems great to me -- I think we would need to perform a similar check on other link styles i.e.

(link name)[my_note]

but perhaps this fixes both. I'll approve the merge shortly after I investigate this so we can resolve it all at once.
