Hello,
I'm trying to run prefetch command which in turn use Aspera ascp command line utility. My command line was:
/home/sratoolkit.2.10.0-ubuntu64/bin/prefetch -a "/home/.aspera/connect/bin/ascp|/home/.aspera/connect/etc/asperaweb_id_dsa.openssh" -O /home/Data -X 100000000 SRR6856357

In the log file i've found:

2020-03-18T11:15:00 prefetch.2.10.0: 1) Downloading 'SRR6856357'...
2020-03-18T11:15:00 prefetch.2.10.0: Downloading via https...
2020-03-18T12:51:32 prefetch.2.10.0: https download succeed
Obviously, prefetch did the job without Aspera ascp. What is wrong in my command line? How can i turn on Aspera ascp to speed up the process?

Many thanks,
Denis

@DenisGoryunov , currently availability to download via Aspera from NCBI is being discontinued.

@klymenko can you please clarify or point to more detailed information? Is this discontinued in sra-tools or at NCBI?

The SRA has been moved into object storage that is not currently supported by the Aspera protocol. The SRA Toolkit has been updated to reflect this change. Under the current circumstances, you should just use https or perform your work within the Amazon or Google clouds, each of which has a copy of the SRA.
