How to install ANXCamera on Android R?

  • Check if your device is listed in our updated wiki here, otherwise try to follow the steps below.
  • Make a backup of your data.
  • In case your phone is encrypted, momentarily remove your pin/password of the lockscreen, so the recovery didn't ask for it.
    Note: We suggest to follow this step because one user had a broken recovery and he complained with us that his recovery can't decrypt the password, so he was unable to remove anx camera modules and he had the only choice to format data because it's phone bootlooped.
  • Use any custom recovery that supports file manager like for eg. TWRP or OrangeFox recovery's, so in case you encounter any problem with our modules, you can easily remove them by follow the instructions that you can find here.
    Note: We strongly suggest you to don't use AOSP/LineageOS Recovery's because they are not user-friendly in case you need to remove our modules and you are not able to boot to system.
  • Download ANXCamera v185R by Noid from here and 48MPFIX v201 from here.
  • Flash the downloaded archives in Magisk Manager.
  • Reboot and enjoy.
  • Install ANXCamera Pro from here.

How to install ANXCamera on Android 10?

  • Check if your device is listed in our updated wiki here, otherwise try to follow the steps below.

How to uninstall ANXCamera?

  • Uninstall ANXCamera and all add-ons from Magisk Manager.
  • Be sure to have follow our installation guide.
  • In case your phone for some reason bootloop, you can remove these folders with the recovery file manager:
    /data/adb/modules/ANXFramework /data/adb/modules/ANXCamera

FAQ

  • I am on Android 9, which version should I use?
    Recommended version for Android Pie is v180. Might cause bootloop on rom update if not disabled before updating the rom.
  • I am getting black screen when I open ANXCamera.
    Enable all permissions manually.
  • I am getting "Can't connect to camera" in Portrait mode.
    Try 48MPFix or ANXCustlibs. If these don't fix it for you, it's likely that your rom / vendor is not fully compatible.
  • My front camera crash.
    Try set Hand Gestures to False with ANXCamera Pro. You can find it here.
  • ANXCamera support MIUI based rom?
    No, although we are aware in some phones may works fine. Note: Don't submit any bug report/log if you are using a MIUI based rom because it will be ignored.
  • How do I make it work on OxygenOS?

  • ANXCamera support external microphone recording?
    No, ask Xiaomi to implement this feature and you will get it.
  • I have encountered a bootloop after have flash ANXCamera and ANXFramework.
    Flash the add-on Bootloop Fix v190. You can find it here.
  • My rom use OSS custom vendor with AOSP Camera Provider. I have issues with portrait mode and wrong lenses.
    Try flash the add-on ANXCameraProvider. You can find it here.
    Note: This is an highly experimental add-on and it might not work for your phone. Try it at your own risk.
  • The brightness stuck at maximum after have flash ANXCamera and ANXFramework.
    There's no fix for it yet. By the way this bug is FOD implementation related.
  • Why Google Photos show a low resolution when I take a 48mp photos or higher?
    Google Photos can't handle dynamically changing files properly. The file is in fact full resolution, it's just showing wrong in Google Photos. Use a file manager for check the real resolution.
  • How do I fix mimoji2 not working?

  • I have flash ANXCamera (or their add-ons) but the log shows me this error: "Magisk Manager isn't supported, flash in TWRP." What I can do?
    Do a backup of your data (just in case something weird happens), dirty flash your current rom then flash ANXCamera and their add-ons via Magisk Manager.
  • ANXCamera support Android R?
    Yes, ANXCamera v185R supports Android R.
