Update 3 Mobile Phone Plan

My 3 Contract ran out and I need to select a new plan.
Typically the plan I used to have is now more expensive ... 🙄
(i.e. less data allowance for the same monthly fee)
And I've found that I have never used all of the 30GB data allowance.
(even when I was using my phone as a personal hotspot for the whole month when working remotely)
This is because I never stream video/audio (the biggest data consumer)
And only use the internet for valuable tasks like "work" and research.

So I'm thinking of downgrading to a lower data allowance.

Also, I will be switching the payment of the bill away from my company and instead using my Monzo credit (which has been accumulating because I don't spend it!) which should pay for my phone bill for the next 10 years!

Going to call 3 next tuesday to get this all set up.

I can be in Bali (Indonesia) or Singapore and still be using my UK Data allowance! 😮

Conclusion: I called up 3 and explained that I don't use my 30gb data allowance so want to downgrade, the chap on the phone was very helpful and gave me an unlisted price plan: £10/month with 8Gb Data (including free data roaming to loads of countries; see "Go Roam" above) and unlimited calls and SMS to UK phones/mobiles and only 3p/minute to PT numbers. Overall I'd say that was a pretty good deal. So naturally I signed up to it. Now my Monzo credit will stretch even further!! 😮
