在中国Google自动跳转 / Google Auto Jump in China #158
Comments
Can you say more about what this means? Is it a recent change? Before the redirect to google.cn/m started happening, what happened when you tried to access google.com? Can you tell us what ISP this is on? I see a "VPN" badge in the toolbar; are you already using some circumvention system? From what I know, google.com is usually blocked in China by DNS injection, or by TCP reset injection, or by TCP timeout. Recent examples from OONI: TCP timeout, DNS injection. Are you saying that for you, google.com was not blocked by the GFW, but the Google server at google.com caused a redirect to google.cn/m? |
At first try to visit google.com when jumping HK, recently the Android phone side slowly began to jump directly to Google.cn/m sometimes will directly timeout |
试试看 https://www.google.com/ncr ?ncr 指的是 no country redirect。 Try https://www.google.com/ncr ? ncr stands for no country redirect. |
I don't feel like "the Chinese firewall may have added a redirect after the key IP packet", but rather that Google thinks you're in China and sends you to google.cn, yet the domestic address isn't served. It's similar to "At first try to visit google.com when jumping HK" when trying to access google.com at first, only the region is changed. |
This is interesting. As we know google.com is supposed to redirect to google.com.hk in China. According to your description, this is happening under 2 conditions: you are using a IP address that makes Google assume you are from China; and that you are using Chrome on Android. Can you answer the following questions:
|

I've had the same problem, it just happens sometimes. |
After visiting google.com/ncr once, you will not be redirected to .hk or .cn, but image search will still be redirected. |
但是用google.com.hk就正常能打开。 I just encountered this problem on my Android phone, after hanging the clash, I used the edge browser and the system's own browser, using google.com and www.google.com will jump to Google.cn/m, so it can not be used. But with google.com.hk, it can open normally. I don't know if it is caused by Google automatically jumping cn (as a rule, it has already gone to foreign nodes, should not judge my address for the mainland), or the redirection of the wall, it seems not too reasonable |
Google can not only confirm the location by IP. Once Google search presumed my location to be Guangdong Province, China (although I am not in this place), and the Google account page for my device location once said China: It can't be that I can connect directly to Google, can it? It's unlikely (or just impossible) that it's a GFW jump. If it was a GFW, it would be blocked directly. |
I observed through webarchive, google.cn/m the domain, in August 2022 when it was still jumping normally to .hk/m, but in November 2022, there was a 404 error, so this should be because Google China years and years and years of problems. |
I've tested it, it's a proxy problem, it doesn't happen if you use clash or v2ray or something like that, but if I use a normal vpn, it'll redirect me to google.cn/m or google.com.hk. Remember, don't use a Hong Kong node, or you'll get the same problem. |
The browser does do this, but the google play app still doesn't work. Oddly enough albums and YouTube are not affected! |
Old problem, add googleapis.cn to the proxy list, as well as two cdn domains - DOMAIN-SUFFIX,googleapis.cn,play-store
- DOMAIN-SUFFIX,xn--ngstr-lra8j.com,play-store
- DOMAIN-SUFFIX,xn--ngstr-cn-8za9o.com,play-store |
