CLI syncdatasource doesn't log to job history?

When I sync a data source in the web browser, it creates a record on the jobs page. But when I sync it via CLI as below, it does not. Is this intentional? I prefer to keep a record of sync operations.

$ sudo /opt/netbox/venv/bin/python /opt/netbox/netbox/manage.py syncdatasource -v 3 mse-netboxdata
