@Abhishek-Dev09 here is the way you make this work
If you want to switch to use another Python version:
|
@pombredanne : Sorry i think i have to work in develop mode but you have solved dependencies that embedded in configure.
|
@Abhishek-Dev09 you wrote:
Running configure does install scancode in --editable mode.
We do not support Python 3.7 yet for now. Let's stick with 3.6 as a minimum and maximum requirement. In anycase things are not yet fully there on macOS with 3.6 as you can see here:
|
@pombredanne: Previously i working in develop mode because plugins have circular dependencies as you have break. I have not seen that changes . |
This is no longer the case when using a clean and up to date |
@pombredanne : Yes , I got same error that you commented (azure) with python 3.6.8 .Then we have to fix it or move to ubuntu. |
The code is not yet ported to Python 3 Signed-off-by: Philippe Ombredanne <pombredanne@nexb.com>
@Abhishek-Dev09 Please try this new branch I have just pushed. https://github.com/nexB/scancode-toolkit/compare/295-configure |
@pombredanne : I got this |
@Abhishek-Dev09 I need the whole trace not just this. |
@pombredanne : Whole trace
|
That's really weird. Can you try a |
If i use |
For more details see here.
|
No, after cleaning i have no bin |
re:
That's very abnormal. You should not need sudo at all. Did you you sudo with git or something else? |
No, macos comes with git(preinstalled).We don't need to install git on macos. On every os, git has same syntax. |
I did not meant this. I was asking instead if you used |
No |
at this stage everything is looking A-OK to me on all OSes except on a Ubuntu 18 container on Azure: everywhere else we can bootstrap with ./configure correctly using the code in #1634 |
The corresponding CI run is there: https://dev.azure.com/nexB/scancode-toolkit/_build/results?buildId=377 |
@Abhishek-Dev09 could you paste exactly the log of what happens with Python 3.6 and no sudo using |
I have already pasted #1631 (comment) |
@Abhishek-Dev09 ok, so can you try with this new branch? https://github.com/nexB/scancode-toolkit/tree/295-configure-on-mac |

This did fix things 5d56f78 |

most everything is wrong on a mac :D BUT that was eventually a combo of a feature in configure (trying to fix bin permissions) and some "System Integrity Protection" thing in macOS which interacted in some weird way (and should not) |
1)First i have clone the repo and move to repo.
2)Then run
./configure
It says configuration completed.
3)Then i run
pip install --editable .
OS- MacOS Mojave
Python 2.7 and 3.7
GCC- 9.1
