"Error loading message template: " 404 error trying to impersonate, Nextcloud 27 #243

Hello and thanks for all the work !

On Nextcloud 27.1.4 and Impersonate 1.14.0
When clicking on Impersonate user, I get this message.
Try on Firefox and Chromium
Console indicate 404 page and no log on admin/logging

Against which URL do you see the 404 happening? Is there anything unusual about the user id?

Nope nothing unusual about this user. I try with all user and it doesn't work.

This URL is not what I would expect to see. The 404 is correct there.

As far as I a Middleware is using that template – but it would not create a url like that, this is not intended like this. What apps do you have enabled?

Nothing uncommon I'd say.

  • And the user who tried to impersonate is either in the admin group, or in of the groups configured to be allowed to impersonate?
  • And the target user is not disabled?
  • And the target user has logged in at least once before?

  • Yes, i use my account and i'm in admin group

Hello !

I think it's related to Nginx.
Because i upgrade with a second instance to v27 then v28, and had the problem.
I decide to change my Nginx settings to C.rieger tutorial and it works now :)

I wish I knew what setting, I have got many sites on this web server monkeying around with nginx settings all at once is bound to break something else haha

btw there is more going on in nginx county.
