A design goal of the app is to be completely syncable on a file level with the default Desktop sync client.

So if we do this, we need to figure out a way how the information does not get lost while syncing.

@iSpeeX please use the GitHub emjois (thumbs up) if you support a feature. Otherwise important content might get flooded. Commenting without new information is contraproductive (no offense).

Just an idea.

Can we simply put a color code inside the category name?

Like: Shopping lists #3399ff

Yes, this might not look nice in the file view.

Or would it be possible to use a hidden file like .category-color?

@CWempe I like the idea of the dot file approach.

Another idea, if per note colouring was desired, would be to check the first ~5 lines of a note and colour it if a hex code is given. That way you have your first two lines be for a title and then maybe a description of sorts, and then the colour somewhere before or after that.
