Droidwall not compatible with Froyo

Hi,

Is there a plan to upgrade to android 2.2 ? Let me know, since if you don't 
think to
be able to release a version for Android 2.2 in a few weeks, i'll try to 
checkout the
sources and provide you with a patch so that you can review it.

as my inspection, root cause is froyo's kernel. it's not by droidwall itself.

My workaround is that block all 2G/3G, and enable all wifi. It works OK. 
But you can not set permission for uid as normal.

BTW, for CDMA, add ppp interface to support 2G/3G.

Sorry people but I'm with too much work on my hands right now (and will be for 
the next few weeks).

Also, my source of testing for Nexus One (a friend of mine) will be out of 
country for a couple of weeks.

I had a chance to test a rooted Nexus One running Froyo - unfortunately this 
seems to be a kernel problem (most likely compilation options)  and there is 
not much we can do to make Droid Wall work on it right now.
Droid Wall is merely an iptables front-end - if iptables is not working on the 
device, Droid Wall won't work either.

I think there is android kernel bug, if it works in 2.1 version and stops 
working in 2.2, and I post issue in android project:

I have 1.4-dev version working on froyo.

I Needed to add "Owner" module to kernel.

however, on froyo w/dev version the widget doesn't work correctly.
and iptable rules are not persistent on reboot.
(although, selections in droidwall do stay set. so all it takes is an "apply 
rules" and
your back in business.)

At least on my HTC Desire (which I upgraded to Android 2.2 manually)
the problem apparently was not the kernel (nor a kernel module) but an outdated 
iptables v1.3.7. 
I get no errors anymore after replacing the old /system/bin/iptables with 
version v1.4.7, which I got from

Tested and confirmed to work on CM6.
Please update your firmware if necessary - there is nothing I can do on Droid 
Wall.

Does not work on Android 2.2 on LG Optimus T. 

Press menu > "firewall disabled" > Message:

"Could not aquire root access. You need a rooted phone to run Droidwall..."

I have rooted my phone with z4root so I suppose it should work. Have switched 
the phone off and back on again to be sure.

@dan.cottrell2, are you able to run other applications that require root? You 
can also try to install a terminal emulator and type "su"<ENTER> to test the 
root access.

Droidwall 1.5.0 does not work on my hero. the system is Elelinux 7.0.0 hero v2.0
when I try to enable the firewall, I get this message:
"Could not aquire root access. ..." but the system is rooted.
