Please confirm if feature request does NOT exist already ?

  • I confirm there is no existing issue for this

Describe the usecase for the feature

When doing data editing, it is very practical to hold Shift, move the cell cursor around to mark a block of cells, and then use Cmd+C to copy the cells' contents, move the cursor somewhere else and paste.

However, in nocodb the copy operation raises an 'Failed to copy to clipboard' error when there is more than one cell selected.

Suggested Solution

This would just be great to have—way to compete with spreadsheets (and SeaTable)

@despens
copy paste block of cells works for same type. support for mixed type- we have in our roadmap, but might not be immediate.

Thank you @dstala! I noticed that copying multiple cells with the same type only works if the cells are in a single row. It is not possible to copy fields of the same type from multiple rows.

This would be a very useful Feature, it would help -A LOT- when shoveling data between applications or when quickly creating outside lists with parts of your data.

Currently it throws this:

Not sure if this maybe a bug even, as the copy option obviously always appears in the context menu🤔

EDIT, this is a Firefox bug

  • in Edge the copy function works as expected!
