Anyone who has lots of extreme digital data like pictures and movies, and can't afford spending $100 a month on storage.

What can I store on NooBaa?
You can store all your files on NooBaa.
Your files stay private in your account and since it's free you don't need to think if you should store it on the cloud or not.
You don't need to worry about backups. Your data is already protected and accessible off-site.

How does NooBaa work?
It's really simple:
Allocate 100GB on your local hard drive.
Get 100GB of protected, fast, always accessible cloud storage for free.
The more you allocate, the better your performance will be.

Under the hood
NooBaa is a computer resources co-sharing social aware solution.
Members of the community allocate local storage that is used to store chunks of encrypted binary data of their peers.
Trying to access the local allocation is equivalent to trying to read a document from a pile of shredded paper in a waste disposal site.

When a user reads a file, NooBaa reconstructs the file and send it to the user.

As each file is spread across many locations, it is protected against hardware failure, theft etc and the performance is not bounded by a single stream to the Internet.
