Description of the Issue

When Notepad++ (since version 7.2) is started the preference "Enable Notepad++ auto-updater" toggles between on and off.

Steps to Reproduce the Issue

  1. Start Notepad++
  2. Go to Settings -> Preferences -> MISC
  3. Check the state of the setting "Enable Notepad++ auto-updater"
  4. Quit Notepad++
  5. Go back to step 1
  6. Notice that the setting has changed

Expected Behavior

"Enable Notepad++ auto-updater" should keep its value

Actual Behavior

"Enable Notepad++ auto-updater" toggles without actively changing the setting between launches of Notepad++
