With iOS 5.1 it is possible to swipe in the tasks and lists table view to enable and actually tap the "Archive" button while adding a new task or list, although I'm not really sure if that is even wanted.
With iOS 6 swiping still works, but tapping does not. It just hides the "Archive" button again when tapping.
This disables swipe-to-delete completely while adding a task/list. The slightly transparent cover view gives the impression of disabled user interaction, so this behavior is more favorable in my opinion.
