How to install

Anton Nesterov edited this page Oct 10, 2017 · 4 revisions

Requirements

Starting with version alpha 12 Blamod Reborn is a standalone mod. It requires you to have Steam installed and download Source SDK base 2013, which is available for free. You don't have to buy HL2 or any other source game, but it is recomended, as Blamod Reborn contains no usable content (for now).

Oldere versions (alpha 11 and earlier) required Half-Life 2 aquired through Steam and installed for mod to work. See How to install (before alpha 12) for more info.

Current version is Windows-only.

Installation

  1. Install "Source SDK 2013 base Singleplayer". You can find it in Tools category of your library.
  2. Find your sourcemods folder. Start from your Steam installation directory and follow this path: SteamApps -> sourcemods If you have Steam installed into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam, you need to navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods. If sourcemods folder does not exist - you need to create it inside SteamApps.
  3. Extract archive contents into the sourcemods folder. You should have folder blamod inside sourcemods after you do that.
  4. Quit and restart Steam client.

If everything done right you'll have Blamod Reborn in you game list

If you install Half-Life 2 or Half-Life 2:Episode 1/2, you'll be able to play those games with Blamod Reborn extensions.

Updating existing instalation

Make sure the game is not running. Unpack zip file and replace all conflicting files. config.cfg, userconfig.cfg, demos, screenshots and saves will be preserved. No other steps required.

Config files can contain old values. In order to clear them, save the config by changing anything in options menu and relaunching the game. You only need to do this once.
