Came across this interesting behavior today:
class WithDtype(np.void): dtype = [('a', int)] np.dtype(WithDtype) # dtype((__main__.Foo, [('a', '<i4')]))
class WithFields(np.void): _fields_ = [('a', int)] np.dtype(WithFields) # dtype((__main__.WithFields, [('a', '<i4')]))
It's not entirely clear to me if it's deliberate. #12207 is similar, and is clearly not.
