The us-counties.csv file shows the following:

2020-05-13,Los Angeles,California,06037,34428,1659
2020-05-14,Los Angeles,California,06037,35329,1659

...which implies that there were no deaths in Los Angeles county on 2020-05-14. The LA Times, however, reports that there were 48 deaths in LA County for that day: https://www.latimes.com/projects/california-coronavirus-cases-tracking-outbreak/ .
