Proposed RFC Suggestion: SIG-Core Mission Statement

Summary:

In the last SIG meeting, it was proposed that the SIG have a mission statement.

What is the motivation for this suggestion?

A lot of things have been assigned under the stewardship of this SIG, some of which would be better under other SIG's. By forming a mission statement, it would give a clearer indication to current and new members exactly what this group is for and also what it is not for,

Please comment with your suggestion for the mission statement and we will bring it up for discussion at the meetings until we achieve a consensus.
