geda-xml is a project with the goal of developing an xml based file format for storing all information about parts and designs for the gEDA suite of applications. Progress can resume on this soon since the following gnome bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=582887 has been incorporated into the git repository for libxml2. If you want to play around with this, make sure you pull from git://git.gnome.org/libxml2 commit edc68aadf84f6acc4acdb85f827a90132d7ab831 (NOTE: Ignore the link on the commit reference, github wiki tries to map it to the github page for geda-xml rather than libxml2) or later which incorporates the patch. Pulling the master branch will obviously work as well. This means that validation should work once libxml2 version 2.7.4 is released.
