Automatically update the default pages in the sidebar

Not sure how we can do this without watching the entire source root, but maybe there’s a way to do it? Or maybe we just generate it on the fly rather than when the config file is loaded, so that way at least you just have to reload the browser or navigate, rather than also having to restart the server?
