Hi there, on the following page: https://odpi.github.io/egeria-docs/getting-started/dojo/egeria-dojo-day-1-3-1-2-configuring-the-platform/ just under the 2nd Postman screenshot is the following text:

"If the baseURL variable is set to a different value to the server platform then Postman can not connect. In the screen capture below, you can see the baseURL is set to the default of https://localhost:9443 when it should be https://localhost:9443 because the platform is running in docker."

Both locations stated here are identical so one must be wrong. I also note that the URL referenced in the screenshot underneath shows the port number 8080 for the baseURL.

Looks like something is amiss here?

Thanks for the feedback.

The dojo is being written - and specifically I'll be starting on day 1 under #116

As part of the update we'll be using Kubernetes to run the tutorial, so the ports etc will be changing.

I'll self-assign this issue for now to make sure I cover your feedback when updating

In the meantime, are you able to connect ok to your egeria server running in docker?
When you ran the container you would have used something like -p 9443:9443 - that will be the portnumber to use here after localhost - the '-p' is setting up port forwarding from your local machine into the docker container.

Hi. Yeah, I can connect to the server running in Docket at https://localhost:19443 and able to make calls using Postman etc. Moving on to configuring a metadata server now.

Thanks

Hi Nigel,

I'm hoping some can point me in the right direction here. I'm trying to get the Coco pharma sample running. I have the Jupyter notebook running and get to this point where my OMAG Server Platforms aren't running but then I'm struggling to find the documentation on how to run them. The link is broken but even when searching on the new docs I can't find the appropriate docs.

Can someone provide some advice?

Thanks,
Seán

@sceo76 you are getting name resolution failures. The hostnames like lab-datalake, lab-core are defaults in the Kubernetes environment - so have you installed the egeria lab chart?

If run locally, they default to localhost -- which isn't what you have here

So can you clarify what environment you are running in (feel free to slack if you want to chat more interactively)

I've made an update to the old dojo text since the new dojo isn't done yet, and it may avoid anyone else falling into the same issue you did - thanks.

Were you able to get running with the notebooks? If not can you add more info here, or post on slack?

@sceo76 were you able to get the tutorials working?
I've updated docs for the first issue you mentioned.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the above. I didn't get the full tutorial running no. I got the notebooks up and running and the UI shell but because the server platforms weren't running that was as far as I got.

I have had to put it aside for the minute to work on other tasks but I will be coming back to this in the future. Your offer of help via Slack is appreciated and indeed I may contact you at some stage in the future.

Thanks again,
Seán
