Beta release of Python drivers for the Olin Source Measure Units(SMU.)

Hardware designed by Dr. Gill Pratt and Dr. Brad Minch.

Software written by Ian Daniher and Dr. Brad Minch.

The folder "modconsmu" is importable as a Python module and contains a pure-Python driver using pyusb, installable on Ubuntu by the commands

git clone git://github.com/itdaniher/pyusb.git
cd pyusb
sudo python setup.py install

The folder "circuitsmu" is also importable as a Python module and largely consists of Dr. Brad Minch's intial attempts at a ctypes binding with libusb.

The course website for "Introduction to MicroElectrical Circuits"(circuits) is located at http://ece.olin.edu/circuits/.

The course website for "Introduction to Modeling and Control"(modcon) is located at http://ece.olin.edu/mc/fall2010.

The circuits SMU requires a binary library to be compiled. To do so, chdir to circuitsmu/hostDriver and execute "build.sh." This requires libusb-1.0, installable by the command

sudo apt-get install libusb-1.0-0-dev
