whatis database not created automatically

After installation of OmniOS r151030e, man -k and apropos fails with:

/usr/local/man/whatis: No such file or directory
/usr/share/man/whatis: No such file or directory
/opt/ooce/share/man/whatis: No such file or directory
/usr/gnu/share/man/whatis: No such file or directory

after running catman -w, it's fixed. It'd make sense to automate this, so that new users who are looking for man pages don't first have to create the index.

Hi and thanks for the report. I agree, it should be automatic, and it should also update if a package operation delivers or removes a man page. I'll have a look at integrating something to do that.
