Off-domain URLs for multilingual site (with different domains for different languages)

Hello! And thanks for doing what you do!

In my sitemap,

https://www.fabianhemmert.com/sitemap.xml

, different domains (fabianhemmert.com and fabianhemmert.de) appear for the different languages (EN and DE) I'm providing. However, this seems to be not allowed for sitemaps:

https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/91769/google-sitemaps-url-is-not-allowed-at-this-location

(Google Search Console complains about the .de domain being not allowed in that sitemap.)
