My company is currently in the process of evaluating technology for use in building our ETL platform. I really like Onyx and am an advocate for using onyx in this project. However, one important feature that we need is that whatever library/technology/etc. we choose needs to support development work in Java.

We are primarily a Java shop, though we do use Scala and Clojure. I use Clojure and it is my hope that Clojure will one day be the primary language but we are not there yet.

As such, I am interested in onyx-java as a way of interacting with Onyx in Java. This project looks fairly new and I'm wondering if it is ready for general purpose use? If not, do you have a roadmap and/or time frame for when it will be? Additionally, are there currently other ways of getting Onyx to execute Java code outside of creating a Clojure wrapper?

Hi @MafcoCinco. This repo was made more for experimental purposes, and we haven't touched it in a while. I'll mark it as inactive in the README.

We do have plans to extend Onyx to other languages, and we have a couple of viable options for getting it done. We are halting on continuing development on this front until there's more commercial interest. If you want to shoot an email to support@onyxplatform.org, we can discuss the roadmap in the context other things we are working on and how we can potentially expedite it.
