Should maintainers and community members who want to join this team be able to just add themselves or should membership be controlled and limited by the team owners and/or project maintainers?

We have a Canva already. I'd say we'd need some kind of accounting of who has access. Now, what that looks like is the big question. I don't think you can use SSO from say GitHub unless you have an Enterprise account and that's $30/seat. But, there is a Canva for non-profits. I wonder if the CNCF could help us there at all?
