No longer works with the newest version of OBServer #10

Thanks for reporting the issue and sorry for the issue with modules and latest version. Version 5.3 is really focused on code refactoring and API stabilization, which unfortunately breaks module compatibility. We'll be updating the our own modules later in 5.3 development. I'll make a note somewhere that 5.3 breaks compatibility with modules, and 5.2 should be used for module compatibility. If there is a module issue with 5.2, let us know and we'll look at fixing. Thanks! |
I appreciate it very much. I didn't think of installing 5.2 instead. I'll try it out and see if it works. Thank you. |
Should add the PEX module is EOL and to be archived. Most of the functionality in this module, including API support, is now included in the core observer code with the metadata manager to add different types of custom fields. Admin>Media Settings>Custom Metadata. |
Is there then an example for how to create serial/episodic playlists? That's one of reasons why I wanted to use this software, so I could schedule daily shows that play from one episode to the next in order. Edit: I meant with the latest version of OBServer, not 5.2. If I can take advantage of the metadata somehow, I feel that would be quite flexible. In addition, I can confirm that the PEX module no longer works with 5.2 or 5.1.1. It seems at least in part to have to do with the layout or styling of the pages compared to the way it was years ago. I've noticed that I'm able to create custom metadata and give different videos attributes such as Season 1, Episode 12, for example, but I don't know if it's possible to take advantage of this so that episodes will play in sequence day after day. |
I just tried installing this through git clone. When refreshing the OBServer admin page, at first it was simply a page of what looked like garbled text. I had to rename the directory to
programs/
frompex/
and then changed the first line inmodules.php
to<?php
. I was then able to install the module, but it simply seems to be too dated to work with the modern version of OBServer.I wanted to have various series of shows that automatically played through weekly or daily and in order. Unless I've missed something, this seems to have been the only way to do it through OpenBroadcaster. I saw some earlier discussion about changing the way OBServer loads modules. I hope this leads into updating the existing modules so that they work with the latest OBServer.
