Seems having your whole site under HTTPS has several benefits:
better google rank http://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal_6.html
easier to code (dont have to think about SSL/NONSSL in link()).
What is the opinion from the core team on making a single link instead of having SSL/NONSSL ?
