Working on a project where a small flash-footprint is a bottleneck. Is there a way to configure the mplayer without x11 support? i know it should be possible but can't find a way to configure the current one supplied in meta-recipes according to these specs.

You should be able to add extra configure options via EXTRA_OECONF
