What

ProductOpener automatically corrects some URLs, but this seems to be wrong in some cases. Possibly since the routing overhaul?

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Go to https://jp.openfoodfacts.org/%E8%A3%BD%E5%93%81/3289196260291/pur-jus-de-raisin-bio-vitamont to see the product works with this URL
  2. Go to https://jp-en.openfoodfacts.org/product/3289196260291/pur-jus-de-raisin-bio-vitamont to verify the product works with this URL
  3. Update the URL to not match the product name any more, but to still be a correct URL for the product, for example https://jp-en.openfoodfacts.org/product/3289196260291
  4. See that you were redirected to a different subdomain: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/product/3289196260291/pur-jus-de-raisin-bio-vitamont

Expected behavior

Why

  • The changed subdomain (= country) is unexpected behaviour. If someone bookmarked the product before a name change, this will basically cause bad bookmarks
