Describe the bug

In the Wikipedia article about Food Energy, we can read: "Some polyols, like erythritol, are not digested and should be excluded from the count".

For example, stevia sugars generally contain 90+g/100g of polyols and those are erythritol.
1000+ sweeteners are concerned, mainly stevia or 0 calories sugars: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/data-quality-error/energy-value-in-kcal-does-not-match-value-computed-from-other-nutrients/category/sweeteners

Many products with low energy (less than 13 Kcal or 55 Kj) are facing this error, probably due to rounded numbers.
See:

Products with polyols and probably calories-free ingredients. Eg.

Note for sweeteners category
28 604 products with this category among them:

  • 27 344 products WITHOUT the quality error
  • 1 260 products having the quality error

mirabelle

categories_tags LIKE "%sweeteners%": 28607 rows
sweeteners without the error: 27348 rows
sweeteners with the error: 1259 rows
sweeteners with "energy-kj_100g" < 55 or "energy-kcal_100g" < 13: 1513 rows

Note for

Many products with low energy (less than 13 Kcal or 55 Kj) are facing this error, probably due to rounded numbers.

119 006 products with "energy-kj_100g" < 55 or "energy-kcal_100g" < 13 among them:

  • 92 446 products WITHOUT the quality error
  • 26 560 products having the quality error

mirabelle

categories_tags lemon-juice: 640 rows
lemon-juice without the error: 495 rows
lemon-juice with the error: 145 rows
lemon-juice with "energy-kj_100g" < 55 or "energy-kcal_100g" < 13: 72 rows

mirabelle

-> hard to make conclusion, but I would say that there is no overlap between category having the error and small energy (i.e. products having low energy do not have necessarily the error).
