Site does not send e-mail on 500-level errors

The site's 500 error page says it's sent us an e-mail, but I haven't received anything to monitoring-private@lists.openhatch.org. That list's archives end in May 2013, so maybe something is wrong with it?

Sending e-mail from the site (using an ipython shell and django's send_mail on the Heroku dyno) successfully sends mail, so I don't think the problem is with the sending end.

Maybe now is a good time to stop using monitoring-private for errors, and start using e.g. https://www.getsentry.com/pricing/ ? Maybe I can convince them to give us a free account because they love us or something. If we want to go down that road, I can email them and ask while you set us up with the free trial?

Sentry seems nice, but I haven't used it extensively. I've about reached the amount of time I have for OpenHatch-y things right now (I've spent big chunks of time on the move to Heroku in the last couple of weeks), so maybe at some point in the future, or maybe someone else can look into this?
