This submission is currently in a pre-review state which means we are waiting for an editor to be assigned and for them to find some reviewers for your submission. This may take anything between a few hours to a couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience 😸

You can help the editor by looking at this list of potential reviewers to identify individuals who might be able to review your submission (please start at the bottom of the list). Also, feel free to suggest individuals who are not on this list by mentioning their GitHub handles here.

👋 @iagolemos1 - I've discussed this submission with the the JOSS editorial board, and we have determined that it is not suitable for JOSS at this time, as we state in our docs:

Minor ‘utility’ packages, including ‘thin’ API clients, are not acceptable.

Based on this, I'm rejecting this submission

However, we also noted your comment in the README:

A GPD package is being created for complementing this one. The main idea is to provide a complete model package of the Generalized Pareto Distribution in the future.

and would be happy to consider a more substantial software package in the future, though this is no guarantee
