  2. Introduce public funding for political parties

    Money has proved to be a major corrupting influence in politics. This has been notably highlighted in recent years by Lawrence Lessig (see e.g. http://www.ted.com/talks/lawrence_lessig_we_the_people_and_the_republic_we_must_reclaim#t-705558 )
    
    The simplest and most effective way to remove this corrosive influence is to ensure that all parties are funded by the public, and in the public interest.
