I am against cron, probably some event on web site should trigger this function.
Should probably use multiprocessing module for that.

there can be bug in Lint itself in older versions, so do not forget to to remove lintlog for existing maps if everything is fine for them.

How about just doing it on upload and when a new OpenRA version is released?

It's already processed on uploading for new map. Then just need to find a proper place where to bind a new OpenRA version detector.

edit: also could trigger it manually from a user with admin rights
