I'm not sure if this should be part of this project or live elsewhere.

My idea is to be able to enter your ORCID ID in a user profile, and then use the ORCID API (http://support.orcid.org/knowledgebase/topics/19247-rest-api) to display publications on an author page, or otherwise on the site.

I might make this a plugin project of my own, but it may make sense here.

Sounds good, and i will start plugin development again next week. So, how's about a call?

I've created a repo for this: https://github.com/noamross/wp_orcid with design notes and have had some conversations with @mfenner on twitter about the design. I'm new to wordpress and PHP, so the going will be slow. I'll probably write some pseudocode in the next week to sketch out the functions.

This next week is quite busy and then I'll be traveling for a few days. I'll be in touch after that about scheduling a call. You can reach me at noam.ross@gmail.com.

I have done some work the last two days on a web service that talks to the ORCID API and returns RSS, bibtex and Citeproc JSON. This is done on the fly at http://feed.labs.orcid-eu.org. This should make it easier to write a Wordpress plugin that displays all citations by author, and I will use the bibtex output to do something similar with Jekyll.
