Noticed a footpath was added by a new user wasn't connected at either end:
untitled-1
It would good if iD could warn in this instance like it does for untagged lines.

The same kind of problem occurs where users add, for example, cyclepaths which cross side roads without a junction node or don't connect to anything at one end. Maybe a similar warning for that as well?

Mentioned in #3130, but I agree we can warn if the user has added a highway that is not connected to anything.

Sorry for being so obtuse, but does this mean that there will be a warning of these unconnected ways? This is one of the most common problem I'm seeing now that Pokemon players are adding paths.

Yes, iD will warn if a user leaves a way tagged highway that is not connected to another way tagged highway. The tooltip says "Roads should be connected to other roads."

Also, it's hard to see in the screenshot below but, post #3775, iD now draws endpoints that are not connected to anything slightly larger to draw attention to them.
