It would be nice if the following features are added to rotation:

  • Snap to 15 degree increments when holding shift or some other key
  • Add option to type number of degrees to rotate
  • A node can be selected as the pivot

Hi and welcome, @Jsfasdf250.

Snap to 15 degree increments when holding shift or some other key

Can you give us a better idea of where you might need this? I agree snapping is useful for most vector graphics software, but map data is rarely so neat and tidy.

Add option to type number of degrees to rotate

Hmm this really seems too advanced for a simplicity-focused app like iD. Mappers can generally just line stuff up with the imagery and not have to worry about exact measurements.

A node can be selected as the pivot

This sounds okay theoretically. You can alternatively move the features before or after you rotate them.

I think the angle snapping feature would be useful for mapping buildings and other artificial features.

Partial duplicate of #5530. Merged points there.
