Distances units in routing #2610

When using osm.org to get routing directions, I'm shown the distance of the route in km.

I'd like a way to select my preferred units
I'd like my preference to be saved between sessions

The routing on osm.org is intended for testing connectivity, not as an end user directions tool, so the distances aren't really very important.
