What happened?

XP Boost is not working in canary datapack.

in tab "skills", the exp is indeed showing as increased, but killing monsters won't give you more exp.

e.g. killed a monster that gave me 144 exp without exp boost
bought exp boost
killed the same monster, and it still gives me 144 exp, even though in skills tab it increased 50% the "xp gain rate"

What OS are you seeing the problem on?

Linux
