Copied from openvax/mhctools#40:

When feeding IEDB HLA alleles through compact_allele_name, I get some surprises:

compact_allele_name('HLA-A*02:01 A150P mutant')
'A0201'

compact_allele_name('HLA-Cw8')
'CW0801'

compact_allele_name('HLA-A1')
'A0101'
