It seems that there is a problem handling the ARCH on arm64 targets
From the BUILD detection I see that the ARCH is set to aarch64. The compilation is ok, but aarch64 is not a DEB or RPM architecture, because it is defined as "arm64"
The result is that the make deb fails with the error:
I guess that somewhere in the Makefile the BUILD system architecture shall be converted to a valid package architecture
