We are currently shifting from the current Python 3.8.12 interpreter to a newer version with more features, 3.8.15.
In order to ensure an easy and hassle-free migration to the new version, here you can find instructions both for new contributors as well as existing developers. Please read it carefully so that your upgrade goes smoothly. If you have any questions about the process, please put your queries on this discussion thread.
For New Developers
For developers and code contributors who are new to Oppia: our current wiki pages have already been updated to use the newer Python 3.8.15 version. Therefore, you only need to follow the standard installation instructions.
For Existing Developers
Upgrade your Python interpreter in place for your existing Oppia directory. You can do this by following the instructions on this wiki page.
